The 2836 movement from Asia if one of the better quality movements you can source to be used in watch builds. Full clones of the ETA2836 these are made in China. Offering the sweeping hand features, a day function and a date function.
The cost of Asian 2836 varies but purchasing from eBay or Aliexpress they cost around £40 to £70. Because of the cost they are not a movement to experiment on and are to be used for a good build. They have a high beat of 28,800 and give the same performance as most modern automatic watches used such as Rolex, Omega, etc.

Back of movement and 2836 Stem Removal
On the back of the 2836 movement you can see the rotor, its a noise movement still but makes a lot less noise than the cheaper asian movements. Its good for the price and makes a great stable movement for a build. To remove the stem from the 2836. You need to push with a little screwdriver or tweezer into the little hole just to left above the stem. Always remove the stem in winding position on popular ETA movements.
Close Up of 2836 and Date Wheel
The close up shows the date wheel and the day wheel. The day wheel is operates from the centre and the date wheel sits at the side. You can see where the hands can be placed on to the movement. To operate the date function you pull stem out and turn the crown clockwise, to operate the day function you turn anti-clockwise on the crown. On this movement the day and date are not like a rolex font and will need adjustments to be used in a build.
A great thing about the 2836 movement is the date sits above the movement so you can apply a date wheel overlay onto the movement. Because the 2836 has the day movement you can change to day disc wheel overlay
2836 Dial Hands
Upon researching movements i did not see many with close up photos to have tried to show that here. The hour hand is a 1.50mm size and is easy to apply with hand presser tools (see my tools), same for the minute hand with a size of 0.90 mm you can fit with hand presser. The second hand is 0.25mm which is better than slimmer onces offered by other movements. When fitting hands you still need to go careful and will need some magnification to apply the second hand.
